Technology That Helps Make Sports (& Life) Easier

Technology That Helps Make Sports (& Life) Easier

People tend to believe that technology in the sports world is only provided for the elite athletes trying and/or succeeding at making it their career. However, that cannot be further from the truth as a lot of useful technology has helped make sports and life easier for us. Today, we are going to discuss a few of them.

Recently, technology has allowed us to online wager on college football odds so we can make advancements in our bankrolls. But this is far from the only great thing tech has done for our life and sports around us. Here is a list of the best way technology has changed sports and our lives as we know it.

Rehabilitation from Injury

Let’s start with one of the most fascinating things, rehabbing from an injury. Before we understood and developed ways to recover from injury naturally, orthopedic surgery was typically the answer to help people return to form from a devastating injury that they suffered.

Take, for example, a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament); in the sports world, those were considered the end of your career, and now some people are back to living a normal life at an accelerated pace without having to go under the knife.

Zebra

Most people will not understand this by the name itself because we are not talking about the animal. Instead, we are talking about the logistics company that tracks football players on the field during NFL games.

Zebra can pinpoint a player within 15 centimeters of their actual location, making the ability to track where the football is when tackled and acceleration/deceleration statistics to a tee.

This also manages the body during practice as teams use technology outside game day. That also means technology like this (and similar products like heartbeat monitors) can be used while training to ensure you are not at a higher risk of injury. This also helps with some sports betting as you can tell some “next-gen stats” as they are happening in real-time, and you can attack lines more aggressively.

Augmented and Virtual Reality

Augmented reality is one of the coolest things on the planet as it superimposes a computer-generated image on a user’s view of the real world. This is used in games like Pokemon Go, as you can see a Pikachu walking around your street when you try to capture it.

One example is training in augmented and virtual reality. You can see how much effort is exerted in a game as they are in a game situation and how the body recovers from it.

VR can help give you live information in everyday life while going for a jog or a swim to help you out. This also can go with rehabilitation as you are restoring your body as we get more and more information.

Virtual reality is a little different as it appears like you are in a different place when you are not. This is something that really can have the ability to continue evolving over time.

Think about this for a minute; say you want to go to a sporting event, but it is sold out. You can go in virtual reality and still get to witness and experience an event without leaving your house.

Closing

Technological advances throughout the world continue to make our lives simpler as we can do more as technology continues to improve. It will be incredible to look back in a few years and see how much it continues to expand even now!

Helping people recover from an injury or making the feeling that you are somewhere you physically are not can really be the beginning stages of helping the world continue to evolve. We are at the forefront of this technology and can continue to build off of it to get better results.  What are some of your favorite technological advancements that help make life easier for you?
