Put-In-Bay is a famous resort village on South Bass Island, but it is commonly used to refer to the whole island. Since the mid-1800s, this town is considered the center of tourism among the Lake Erie Islands, with its uncountable taverns, restaurants, wineries, and hotels.

Another popular option is through the Put-In-Bay airport, which provides private pilots a well-maintained runway.
