Taking your business online is a step towards boosting your business which lets you sell your products without any limitation of distance. There are various websites that do the job but Amazon is the best option above all of them. Being India’s most visited shopping destination, it gives you Crores of customers who can order it from all across India. Becoming an Amazon seller is another process of creating a seller account and registering into it which requires documents like PAN card, GST no., Bank account, Mail ID, and mobile no. and other seller information like store name, product category, annual turnover, etc.
Now once you have a seller account, you need to upload a product on Amazon. Log in to your seller account and click on Inventory which takes you to the tool “Add a product”. This tool gives you two options:
- Match to an existing product listing
Amazon gives you this option to check whether the product you want to sell already exists. Search for the product on Amazon within the “Find your products on Amazon’s catalog”.
[It would be better to have a product identifier like UPC, EAN, JAN or an ISBN.]In the case you find the product you want to sell, go further following these steps:
- Click on “Show variations” (not applicable for all the products).
- Select a condition of the product.
- Enter your offer details in the provided data fields. (Required fields have an asterisk (*))
- Save.
2. Create a new product listing
If you couldn’t find a product which is already exist, you’ll need to create it which requires quite a lot of time but here’s a tip which can save your time to a lot of extents.
[Before creating a new listing, be ready with the required information which you would need to fill. Write all the information at a single place like MS Word or Excel, and then you can copy-paste it once you are filling the sections. This will help the information to be more precise.]- Be precise while choosing the category to which your product belongs by clicking on “Select a Product Category” as it becomes hard to customize later. Accuracy will help the buyers to view your product more easily.
- Enter the information in the appeared tabs. Note that tabs like Vital Info, Offer and Keywords have an exclamation mark(!) which depicts that you have to fill them properly in order to sell your product. Here are some of the tips to help you upload the information:
- Note that the Product Description field on the Description tab has a maximum of 2000 characters. Ensure that details are very general as other sellers will list their items against the product detail page you have created.
- Fill the “Key Product Features” field on the Description tab by keeping in mind that these details will be presented as bullet points on Amazon.
- Also while filling the “Keywords” tab, keep in your mind who your ‘target audience’ is.
- Once you have entered all the required information, click “Save changes” to complete the process.
Be patient, it will take some time to load the page since a lot of information along with images is being uploaded. You’ll get the message “Congratulations! Your product is now listed for sale on Amazon.” The process can be a bit lengthy but it’s worth it. The given tips will help you a lot while uploading your products.
