CA after graduation: An Overview
Chartered Accountancy is one of the most reputed courses in India and promises you with a very bright future. This is the reason it has become one of the most popular career choices among students with a commerce background.
Aspirants can pursue it right after 12th or even after graduation or post-graduation.
CA, as a Career choice comes with many perks like high social status, problem-solving abilities, money management, personality development, etc.
Eligibility for CA after Graduation
The basic eligibility to pursue ca after graduation is, a minimum of 55% marks in graduation or post-graduation in commerce from a recognized university or board.
Others, with a science background, need a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate to qualify for the CA course. This is the first basic condition you must fulfil to even apply for CA Course.
Duration of CA after Graduation
Aspirants who want to become CA after graduation, with the NEW Direct Entry Scheme, it takes around three years to become a CA, if you pass all your exams in one attempt.
After graduation, you are exempted from giving CA Foundation exams, so now you can directly enrol yourself in the CA Intermediate course, followed by your Articleship training and CA Final Exams.
How to become CA after Engineering/ Science?
If you are graduate or post-graduate and with a science stream, the average marks you need is 60% or more. After that, you are eligible to pursue a CA course under the” Direct Entry Scheme”.
Under this scheme, you are exempted from giving CA Foundation exam, so you can directly register yourself for CA Intermediate course.
After that, you are required to successfully complete ICITSS, (Integrated course on Information Technology and Soft Skills).
The reason behind this training is to familiarize the students with accountancy subjects and to develop their communication and presentation skills.
Then you have to start your 3-Years Articleship training with a CA Firm
After nine months of articleship training with a registered CA Firm, one is qualified to give CA Intermediate Exams.
After passing both the groups of CA Intermediate exams and 2.5 years of articleship, you are eligible to give CA Final Exams.
CA Admission procedure after graduation
- First Fill your admission form and submit it to ICAI. It can be done both-Online and Offline.
- Submit your Mark-Sheet along with your admission form.
- Pay your Registration fees.
CA Examinations
CA Exams generally can be divided into three levels:-
CA Foundation exams
As you are graduated, you are directly eligible to give CA Intermediate exams. There is no need to give CA Foundation Exams.
CA Intermediate Exams
CA Intermediate Exams is the second stage of CA examinations and divided into two groups with four papers each.
